Mushroom farming
During mushroom growing, contamination by soil, irrigation water, manure or sewage sludge use and animals are possible, also all post-harvest mushroom handling stages, including the processes of washing and cutting, could cause hygienic defects. During minimally processing procedures, microbial growth is possible because mushroom slicing creates a large exposed surface area and the lack of a protective barrier. Furthermore, packaging and storage also allow bacteria to grow due to respiration of fresh mushrooms, with increasing amounts of water vapor in the package.
Compact dry is suggested for detection of the predicted microbial contamination in samples, to get a fast result with the lowest cost.
